Is the DL360 Gen9 too loud for home use?
The 1U chassis packs small high-RPM fans that get clearly audible under load. It's fine in a basement, utility room or sound-dampened rack, but less so on a desk or in a living room. If quiet matters, the larger 2U DL380 Gen9 is a better fit.
v3 or v4 Xeon in the DL360 Gen9?
Both fit the LGA2011-3 socket. E5-2600 v4 (Broadwell) offers more cores and slightly better efficiency; v3 (Haswell) is cheaper. For v4 the system BIOS should be up to date - ideally noted in the listing.
8x or 10x SFF - what to check?
The DL360 Gen9 comes in 8-bay or 10-bay SFF (2.5-inch) form. Confirm the backplane, a matching controller/HBA and the drive caddies are included - on the 10-bay model especially, accessories are often sold separately.
