Frequently asked questions
What to check on a used NVMe?
Check SMART values (Total Bytes Written, Power-On-Hours, Reserved Block Count). A TLC SSD with under 30% lifespan consumed is still a good buy.
PCIe 3.0 or 4.0?
For most workloads PCIe 3.0 (3-3.5 GB/s) is more than enough. PCIe 4.0 only matters for DirectStorage games or pro workloads.
